Adventure Sports

The Jungfrau region is known abroad as the adrenalin capital of Europe. Lauterbrunnen is famous for BASE jumping, Interlaken offers Rafting, Canyoning, Sky diving, Paragliding, and much more. These activities are strictly regulated to Swiss safety standards. Numerous booking agencies offer tours, mostly run by the same companies.

We are also guides for Outdoor Interlaken and can offer you a 5% discount if you book activities with them via their website http://www.outdoor-interlaken.ch and mention booking code DCON Pickups can be arranged with the company upon booking.

Rafting
The mighty Lütschine offers some of the best whitewater rafting in the Swiss Alps. Straight from the start below the Eiger North Face, continuous class III-IV rapids surge down from the mountains and out into the Interlaken valley and the Lake of Brienz. From May to mid September

Canyoning

Rappel, slide and jump down rocks and waterfalls. There are different canyons to suit all tastes, from easier half day trips to full on full day trips with 25ft jumps. From May to whenever it gets too cold!

Paragliding
Big and small, we all dream of flying. Tandem flights turn dreams into reality. Enjoy breathtaking mountain views and the sensational feeling of flying high above the Jungfrau region. Experienced pilots ensure smooth take offs and gentle landings. Bookable summer and winter.

Hang gliding
Glide through the air like an eagle, lying in the perfect position to enjoy the flight and the nature. A hang gliding flight is a special experience: the high flight speed, the flying position and if you wish, the fast turns, will remain in your memories for a long time. Depending on conditions can be a year round activity.

High ropes course
Five courses of varying difficulty and height lead you on a tree top adventure through a beautiful forest. Challenge yourself as you travel from platform to platform along a maze of rope bridges and zip lines set high in the trees. Along the way enjoy the stunning views of the Swiss Alps and the majestic Jungfrau region. This is a great way to be amongst nature at it's most splendid!
It’s a great family day away and there is a picnic and barbecue area.
Open from Spring to autumn, depending on the weather conditions.

Sky diving
This activity has a serious adrenaline factor with the bonus of a really great flight before you even get to the jump site. Can be booked year round.

Ice climbing
Ice climb the Swiss Alps! Imagine yourself rappelling down crystal blue crevasses, deep into a glacier, surrounded by the most impressive mountains in the world - and then ice climbing your way out again. UIAGM guides will teach you climbing techniques, rapelling and safety during a full day of ice climbing and glacier trekking in the Swiss Alps.

Bungy                                                 www.alpinraft.ch                            033/ 823 41 00
There are two spectacular bungy sites to choose from. One in Grindelwald, by the glacier gorge, the other at the Stockhorn, where you jump off a cable car above an alpine lake.  The Grindelwald site remains open during the winter months.

Climbing:
Sports climbing: The Jungfrau Region offers climbing in the Glacier Gorge in Grindelwald, on Hintisberg as well as in Gimmelwald and at Riggli above Mürren. The Engelhörner, the Lobhörner and Hintisberg are amongst the climbing regions nearby.

Via Ferrata: A via ferrata is a continuous path through the rocks secured by steel cables and, where necessary, with ladders. It offers experienced hikers who are confident in the mountains and free of vertigo a happy medium between hiking and climbing.

Routes:

·        Rotstock via ferrata, ca. 2 - 3 hours

·        Ostegg via ferrata, ca. 5½ hours

·        Schwarzhorn via ferrata, ca. 5 - 6 hours (from First - Grosse Scheidegg)

·        Mürren via ferrata, ca 3 hours (from Mürren - Gimmelwald)
